Jerome Weinstein
Jerome Weinstein was in private practice in Boston for fifty years, representing a wide range of employers, including hospitals and other health care providers, colleges and universities, religious institutions, investment and financial services, and manufacturing, transportation, warehousing and broadcasting companies. He has counseled clients in union organizing campaigns, represented them in unfair labor practice proceedings, labor negotiations and arbitrations, and advised on the interpretation and application of collective bargaining agreements. He has appeared before all state and federal labor and employment agencies, including the State Labor Relations Commission, United States Department of Labor, National Labor Relations Board, Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, as well as in all levels of the Massachusetts and federal courts.
Jerry is a graduate of the University of Michigan, B.A., 1963, and Harvard Law School, J.D., 1966. After law school he was a law clerk to the Hon. Clifford O’Sullivan, a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He then went on to the National Labor Relations Board in Washington, D.C., where as a supervising attorney he briefed and argued cases in the federal district and appellate courts throughout the county. He was associated with several large law firms when he came to Boston in 1972, before opening his own law firms, Sullivan, Weinstein and McQuay, and Hirsch, Roberts, Weinstein, from which he recently retired. In addition to his private practice, Jerry was an adjunct professor at Boston University School of Law, teaching a course in employment law for over twenty years. He has been listed as a “Best Lawyer” and “Super Lawyer” in Boston for many years. He is a member of the honorary society of the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation.
